The Grimshaw Christmas Party

It was the annual Grimshaw Christmas Party. We meet at Uncle Ron and Aunt Norma's house and had a lot of fun with the Grimshaw side of the family. We enjoyed pizza and the traditional dipped chocolate goodies. Santa showed up with a surprise for all the kids. We enjoyed getting together and having a fun time with our family. The Grimshaws have an awesome tradition of giving to a charity or doing a service project instead of giving gifts to each other. They are a wonderful family.

The Family sitting around listening to Santa

Alison sitting on Santa to get the gift for the New Baby that is coming soon.

Carter got to see Santa three times in two days. Santa must be making sure that he is being good.

Light Parade

Nephi has a really cool light parade on the weekend after Thanksgiving the kids loved it. It was so much fun that we didn't really even notice the cold.

Carter all bundled up

Carter's cousins Gabby and Aiden came to enjoy the show.

Santa showed up on a fire engine to start the parade.

We had a great time and ended the fun with Hot Chocolate at our house.

Santa Claus is coming to town.

We have been preparing Carter for Santa this year. We talked about how he wants us to be good and if we are really good he might bring us a toy. I asked him what he wanted Santa to bring him and with out any hesitation he said "A backhoe" Christmas has been so much fun this year. Carter makes everything so much more fun. I am lucky to be a mom to such a funny little boy.

Carter has an Awesome Grandpa who helps Santa Claus come to town every year.

Great Great Grandma Nielson

Carter is so lucky to have a Great Great Grandma. She is a wonderful caring person she will be turning 98 this January. I have some really fun memories of Family Reunions where she was out on the wave runners well over 85. She loves her family very much and the Church is one of the most important things in her life. I hope to be like her if I make it to that age. She is still as sharp as ever. We love you Grandma Nielson.

Halloween Fun!

We had a great, yummy, fun, not so spooky Halloween. It turned out to be perfect weather, which was surprising because it had been so cold and even snowing just days before. Carter was dressed up as a dragon but half the time he was a dragon and the other half he was a dinosaur so he was an official dragonasaurus. No matter what he was he was adorable. The costume that I got for him was a size 2 to 4 which I thought would be huge but it was so small on him I had to do a little adjusting. We did a little trick or treating around our neighborhood and then went to Fayette to visit Grandparents and Great Grandparents and Trick or Treat a few neighbors. Carter's favorite part of Halloween was of course the candy and being dressed up.

Chicken Nuggets

Cheep 99 cent chicken nuggets are one of Carter's favorite things and quick easy dinner on our way home sometimes. We'll when Carter is sitting in the back seat I just have to assume that he is eating his food like a normal person. When I turned around to see how he was doing I saw little pieces of chicken nuggets hanging out of the end of his nose. He was shoving little pieces of chicken up his nose. I told him to stop right away and I thought "my crazy little boy" then went home and laughed it off. Well the next day I talked to a friend whose little boy had just shoved chocolate chips up his nose and took him to the ER. The doctor was really glad he came in and told her how dangerous things up kids noses can be. To top it off I also saw the Dr. OZ episode on the Triangle of Death. Well I took Carter into the Doctor and sure enough there were pieces of chicken up his nose. He was put on nose spray and antibiotics. Thankfully he is doing great no chicken nugget side effects as far as we can tell.

Who knew what you could find in a corn maze...

In honor of the day Brett and I meet I thought I would do a quick post about our fun anniversary. I talked my roommates into going to a corn maze that the Institute at College was sponsoring. When we got there they were pairing people off and wrapping their arms together. I was more than happy to be tied up to this really tall cute guy. We had a great time talking the whole way through the maze. We talked about everything from his mission, dislikes, likes, and family. We really clicked. Towards the end of the maze I was noticing how fast Brett was making the turns. I asked him how he knew which way he was going he admitted that he had just been on a date their the week before with another girl. But to make up for it he also said that he was having a lot more fun there with me. (ahhhh what a cutie) He offered me a ride home and was such a gentleman and opened my door for me both times. I was very impressed. We both hinted to each other that a Halloween date would be fun for tomorrow. The next day he called and took me to the Haunted Forest in American Fork. I tease him that he knew he would be able to hold my hand if he took me to a scary place. To which he always replys I knew what I was doing. Little to say Halloween isn't so scary to me, its a great Holiday because it brings back such fun memories. I am really lucky to have such a great husband. He is a wonderful dad to Carter. I love him very much. So Happy Aniversary to Brett and to everyone else have a Happy Halloween.

The summer isn't complete without a fishing trip.

One of my favorite memories as a child was going up Twelve Mile Canyon to go fishing. I really hope to instill that love of the mountains to Carter. We went with "Pappa Bob and Mamma Janice" to Shingle Mill Carter caught his very first fish. He was so excited and had so much fun up in the mountains. It was a great day. Thanks Mom and Dad.

Cousin Time

After a fun day shopping in Park City. We all relaxed in Grandpa and Grandma Gledhill's backyard.

Our fun day at the Dinosaur Museum. Carter LOVES Dinosaurs so it was a really fun day for him.
Happy EARLY birthday to Jack and Nate. We surprised them with a birthday party with cake and presents. LaRell made a Fabulous dinner that I sincerely hope becomes a tradition.

Last but not least was a fun get together at Kangaroo Zoo. It was such a fun fun place and we are taking Carter back. He got lots of energy out and so did mom climbing up and down the slides.

Bown Family Fun

We had a really enjoyable getaway to "Uncle Gordon's" Cabin. We told stories by the campfire, enjoyed delicious food and fun card games. The kids loved playing in the dirt and volleyball court. It was a great get together and so good to catch up!

Mountains, Campfires, Dirt and SMORE'S

You can't call it summer without at least one camping trip up the mountains and a good s'more. We went to the Jensen Family Reunion. Carter thought it was the coolest giant sandbox ever. He loved seeing his family and grandparents and great grandparents.
Carter tasting a freshly toasted marshmallow Abby and her marshmallows
Nanna and Carter. I think Carter still has marshmallow on his face.
Dusty John and Laurie after a four-wheeler trip.Grandpa and Niki headed up to the big tree.
Life's hard.

Bear Lake

Bear lake was such a fun little family get away. We stopped at Hill Air Force Base and checked out all the cool airplanes. Gabby and Carter looking into the airplan.Once we got to Bear Lake and had supper we had to get the Famous Raspberry shakes and Ice Cream Cones for the kido's. This is their version of a kid cone.
This is Super Mable (yeah the tube has a name) but we took Carter and Aiden for a slow ride behind the boat and Carter loved everything except getting off.

Carter and Ian are good little buddies. They both have some serious morning hair going on too.
Thanks mom and dad for such a fun and wonderful time. We really enjoy getting together and making fun memories. It was a wonderful getaway and we really loved it. Oh and thanks Holly for letting me steal a few pictures.

Officially Nephi Residents

We went to the Ute Stampede in Nephi so we are now officially Nephi residents. Nephi's biggest event of the year is the Ute Stampede. They have three different parades and bring in a giant carnival. Carter's favorite part were the horses and the motorcycle half time show. I think we might have to make it a family tradition.Enjoying the rodeo.

Carter makes an adorable little cowboy.
My cute cousin Amber and her husband Dallin enjoying the rodeo. Amber is going to be a mom of a cute curly haired little boy in the near future and we are so excited for her.Carter telling Nanna Bonnie all about the rodeo.

Fun things I didn't have my camera for...

We had a wonderful day celebrating the fourth of July with our family. We went to Gunnison and enjoyed some fun fireworks the night of the third and then got up early for the Fourth of July. Carter was lucky to have both of his grandparents there. We watched the parade in the HOT sun. Carter loved the fact that people were throwing candy at him. He couldn't gather it fast enough. His cousin Collin was really cute when picking up candy he would only pick up things that he thought would taste good. We then went to the park to enjoy some games and good food. I love going to small town Fourth of July Celebrations they are the best. We came home that night to enjoy the Nephi fireworks. We wrapped up in a blanket out on the balcony with some snacks ready for the fireworks but instead watched a lighting storm and enjoyed the cool summer rain. It was even more fun than the firework.

Sunny afternoon at Lagoon
Brett and I took Carter to Grandma's and went on a date to Lagoon. We meet Brett's family there. It was so fun to enjoy Lagoonabeach the rides and getting together with family. We had so much fun ridding all the rides. I can't say all the rides. Brett buddied up with Kipp for the Samari and a few other crazy ones I probably couldn't make it through without loosing my lunch. It was a fun time.

Fourwheeler ride up Springville Canyon. It was a perfect day for a fourwheeler ride up the mountain and it was such beautiful ride. We went together with Brent & Candi, Amber & Dallin, Brittany, Clark and his kids and mom and dad. We went to the top of the mountain where you could see for miles. It was a fun ride that even had a water fight at the summit. We then drove to Strawberry. It was a long ride and a fun chance to hug my husband for a good long while. Thanks Brent and Candy for a fun ride.

I'll see if I can round up some pictures from all the fun times. I need to get better at taking my camera with me.

South Ogden Days

When we lived in Ogden we would always go to South Ogden Days.  One of the funnest cheapest concerts out there.  Since we moved I have really missed going  but this year we met up with some of our old friends and had so much fun!  We spread out the blankets, break out the food, and enjoy the music and awesome fire works show afterword.

Carter and Callie.  Codie Jo and I have a plan to meet together every summer in hopes that we can encourage a future romance.  (we can hope)  Callie is absolutly adorable.  She and Carter had so much fun playing together.
