Casey's Farewell

Casey's Farewell was February 21, 2010. He had a lot of support from his family and friends.
Casey gave a good talk, his subject was "Let Virtue Garnish thy Thoughts." He talked about lessons he learned while working on the farm and "Enjoying time in the mountains with his dad." He talked about what has helped him prepare to serve a mission. It was a good talk with a lot of laughs and also a spiritual aspect. We enjoyed hearing his testimony and about how excited he is to serve our Heavenly Father as a Missionary.

We will miss him lots but know that he is doing the right thing by serving a Mission.

Vacation!!!

We went on a great family vacation to spend some time with my little brother before he leaves on his mission. We went on an awesome cruise to the Mexican Rivera. We got on the Sapphire Princess and enjoyed just relaxing and having a good time. I really needed to relax after being put in as Primary President and Christmas and New Years it was nice to be pampered and spend some great quality time with Brett who has worked so hard for our family.

On the boat we enjoyed going to the movies, playing shuffle board (every night), hot tubing, amazing food, having a room steward come in and clean our room every night and morning, whale watching, playing cards on the balcony, reading books, sleeping in, staying up late, taking naps, getting a tan, and watching the sunset.

Off the boat we enjoyed going snorkeling, zip-lining through the jungle, taking tours of Mexico, glass bottom boats, playing on the beach, buying jewelery and junk, great weather, warm sandy beaches, and awesome memories. Thanks mom and dad we will never forget the awesome memories we made. Casey we will miss you lots over the next two years but know you will be a great missionary.

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas at Brett's Parents house. We had a great time on Christmas eve watching the classic Christmas shows including It's a wonderful life, The Christmas Story and A Christmas Carol (The Disney Version). We had a great time and opened pj's from Grandma and got the kids to bed so Santa could come. Christmas morning Santa did find us and also dumped his sleigh. Carter got the backhoe that he wanted so bad. Lincoln got a basketball hoop and Grandma got a Laptop. It was such a fun morning. Carter loved everything about Christmas. He made Christmas even more fun.

After Carter had a good nap we headed down to Alisa's Parents for another round of Christmas fun. We had our traditional Christmas Breakfast for dinner. We ate waffles and ham. We then read from Luke about our Saviors birth. My Grandpa and Grandma Jensen came and watched us open presents. We had a wonderful Christmas day. The day after Christmas we went to my Grandma and Grandpa Jensen's to open Christmas Presents. We missed their Christmas Eve Party. We enjoyed visiting and eating some Christmas Snacks. We then headed over to my Grandma Bown's for the Bown Family Christmas Party. We all have so much fun together. There are usually some crazy things that happen there. One year a duck flew out of a present but this year it was topped with 7 white doves. It was a crazy mad house for a few minutes but was so much fun and we all had some good laughs.

The Grimshaw Christmas Party

It was the annual Grimshaw Christmas Party. We meet at Uncle Ron and Aunt Norma's house and had a lot of fun with the Grimshaw side of the family. We enjoyed pizza and the traditional dipped chocolate goodies. Santa showed up with a surprise for all the kids. We enjoyed getting together and having a fun time with our family. The Grimshaws have an awesome tradition of giving to a charity or doing a service project instead of giving gifts to each other. They are a wonderful family.

Alison sitting on Santa to get the gift for the New Baby that is coming soon.

Carter got to see Santa three times in two days. Santa must be making sure that he is being good.

Light Parade

Nephi has a really cool light parade on the weekend after Thanksgiving the kids loved it. It was so much fun that we didn't really even notice the cold.

Carter all bundled up

Carter's cousins Gabby and Aiden came to enjoy the show.

Santa showed up on a fire engine to start the parade.

We had a great time and ended the fun with Hot Chocolate at our house.

Santa Claus is coming to town.

We have been preparing Carter for Santa this year. We talked about how he wants us to be good and if we are really good he might bring us a toy. I asked him what he wanted Santa to bring him and with out any hesitation he said "A backhoe" Christmas has been so much fun this year. Carter makes everything so much more fun. I am lucky to be a mom to such a funny little boy.
